How does Pranic Healing work?
Pranic Healing works on the principle that the body can heal itself. This highly evolved system is non touch complementary therapy used to accelerate the body’s natural ability to heal. It can be used as a preventative or restorative treatment for physical and psychological conditions.
What is Pranic Healing?
Pranic Healing combines ancient energy techniques with modern science.
In Western Medical Science very little is taught of “Prana”, the Sanskrit word for Life Force energy, or Chi (Chinese) and Ki (Japanese), and how it effects the body.
Medical tests often are unable to find the origin of the problem and are labelled as “stress related” or psychosomatic. Medications may soothe the symptoms, but the original problems persist. These unexplained causes include migraines, back and shoulder pain, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, neck pain, asthma, heart conditions and many more.
As we lead such busy, fast paced lives with work, financial and family commitments, we generate a tremendous amount of emotions such as stress, fear, anger and anxiety. How we react to these situations has the potential to cause a stress reaction in the body which reduces energy levels and weakens the immune system. A physical or mental health condition can then arise, each with a unique energy pattern.
When energy and its effect on the body is understood, one can systematically remove the root cause of the problem effectively. This is done by applying techniques to treat each specific energy pattern of a condition, assisting the body to heal itself faster. For some the outcomes may even seem miraculous.
Pranic Healing is quickly becoming one of the fastest growing complementary therapies world wide, now established in 126 countries. It is an incredible technological breakthrough in the science of healing. Doctors, nurses, carers, psychologists and complementary therapists are incorporating the techniques of Pranic Healing alongside their conventional medical approaches with amazing results.
Business professionals and families too are turning to the benefits of Pranic Healing to treat emotional conditions as well as injuries from sport and accidents, infections, allergies, chronic pain and long term conditions like diabetes, asthma, strokes and cancer. People of all ages are now enhancing their lives, significantly improving health and bringing calm and clarity into everyday life.

The Energetic System for good health
As the physical body is made up of various systems like the musculoskeletal and gastrointestinal systems, it also has an energetic system which surrounds and interpenetrates the physical body through which energy flows
The nature of energy is to flow smoothly to maintain good physical and emotional health. When the flow is interrupted, through blockages or depletion, a condition can arise.
The maintenance of this system ensures a balance which is essential for proper health and vitality. Energy can be cultivated, controlled and increased with the right methods and proper training. Some modalities like acupuncture and reiki, require a practitioner to work on you. In others activities like Yoga, Chi Kung, you can learn techniques to increase the energy by working on yourself. Pranic Healing encompasses both.
Energetic Anatomy explained
Bioplasmic Energy Body
The physical body is surrounded by an invisible energy body called the bioplasmic energy body, etheric body and also known as the aura. This is made up of:
Though 11 Major Chakras are taught in Pranic Healing, the energy body comprises many more. The word Chakra means “spinning disk” in Sanskrit and it acts as a power source or energy centre of the energy body. Energy changes can create a chemical imbalance in the physical body and over time a condition will then arise. The origins of many conditions of the physical body are unexplained, but caused by the energetic change.
The chakras have a physiological and psychological function. The condition of the chakra will affect the condition of the physical body, and the emotional state of the person will affect the condition of the chakra.
Meridians or Nadis
As veins transport blood around the physical body, meridians are channels that transport energy to and from the chakras, to be assimilated by the physical body.
How do Lifestyles affect our energetic wellbeing?
Lifestyle choices like diet and nutrition, exercise, living conditions and bad habits, determine how much revitalising energy you absorb from sources like the ground, air and sun.
How we respond to life situations is the key to understanding what impacts our energy system. Stress related illnesses because of demanding careers, families, children, financial pressures, ill health, all contribute towards low energy levels. Negative emotions trigger a stress reaction in the body, this in turn triggers a chemical and energetic change that reduces energy levels. Prolonged periods of stressful situations and reactions will result in a condition, physical or emotional.
An understanding of this energy body enables one to tackle and remove the conditions and increase energy levels in all aspects of their lives.
How can an emotion be a root cause of a condition?
Everything is energy. Thoughts and emotions themselves are energy. Whatever is in your energy body whether good or bad, positive or negative, helpful or hurtful may also be held in your physical body.
Trauma, or replaying of a disturbing incident can be stored in the physical body, known as psychosomatic pain, as recognised in psychological practices. Like a hosepipe with a kink can cause congestion and pressure, the same is true for the energy body. Negative emotions, limiting beliefs, traumas, anger, fears, interrupt the smooth flow of energy through the body and ailments can arise in the physical body, where these energy interruptions occur.
Pranic Healing uses specifically designed protocols which have been researched, experimented and validated over a period of 30 years to treat both the physical ailment and the psychological condition which causes the problem to manifest in the first place. Over 85% of ailments are due to stress factors, eg backache, migraines, heart conditions, chronic fatigue and much more.
By removing the energy of the emotions from the chakras, these energy centres can normalise and regulate the smooth flow of Prana, thereby improving and possibly reversing a condition entirely. A series of treatments may be required for effective results, though in some cases a miraculous outcome could occur.
What happens in a Pranic Therapy treatment?
A Pranic Healing treatment involves two people being present, yourself and the Practitioner.
At the consultation they will discuss your problem with you and help alleviate the symptoms as they are trained to treat physical and psychological ailments safely and effectively with a prescribed method.
Pranic Healing is non touch, thus treatments can be done in the same room or even remotely.
Pranic Healing is a complementary therapy and does not replace medical treatments. Pranic Healing Practitioners are not medical doctors and do not make a medical diagnosis. It is best to consult a medical doctor for a diagnosis and provide the Practitioner with this. Pranic Healing methods do not interfere with medical treatment plans, and is safe to use alongside prescribed medical treatments.
Personal or spiritual development and the Energetic System
Everyone is a spiritual person. It is the degree of development in individuals that may vary.
A true spiritual person should be sharp, honest, strong, courageous, powerful, dynamic, intelligent and good hearted. These qualities can transform the nature of an individual, but also of mankind and society itself.
What is invisible affects us the most. Can you see a thought or emotion?
We all have strengths, we all have weaknesses. Everything is energy. Unhelpful thoughts and emotions affect our behaviour. These form an energetic obstacle as they disrupt the flow of energy through the chakras and energetic body itself, a condition can then arise.
What we think we radiate – what we radiate we attract. Ever wondered why you keep attracting the same situations or people of a similar nature into your life? Why you keep experiencing repeated patterns? The energy centres, chakras, are the blueprint for our mind and our health. By transforming the chakras we can break the cycle of the old patterns and manifest our true greatness.
Pranic Healing and Arhatic Yoga are designed to do just this. Various courses are available to deepen the understanding of one’s union to the Divine Nature and to accelerate one’s spiritual growth.
Be dynamic. Be courageous. Understand your emotions, your fears, your phobias, or anything that is causing you a problem. Deal with it and move forward. It’s all you have to do.
Dr Meera Ahluwalia – BDS, MSC, FDS(Lond), FDS(Paed)
Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry
I was introduced to Pranic Healing by a friend who had mentioned how it had helped her immensely during a very difficult time in her life. I originally attended the course with my husband who had had a life changing injury a number of years earlier as I was intrigued to learn more about it and how it could help us.
Following the teachings and meditation has proved hugely beneficial for my husband, as he has seen substantial improvement in his balance and motor skills and for myself, I am now very much better at handling a number of both personal and health issues that I had been dealing with
Executive Producer in Entertainment television
I integrated Pranic healing into my life in 2012 and it’s done nothing short of transforming who I am as a person and the way I live my life.
After a run of doing one big BBC Saturday night show after another, I realised I was quite depleted – just a constant feeling that I was ‘running on empty’. With the help of starting Arhatic Yoga, (which is a step up in the variety and intensity of meditation) and with healing from Les Flitcroft, I had the realisation that none of the things I valued…family, career, friends…would be supported if I was heap on the floor! So I started getting up at 630am every day to do the gentle stretching and meditations. The impact on my life is hard to overstate – it makes me feel strong, balanced, and feel calm and in control rather than erratic. I’m better at my job now too, as I’m generally able to rise above the emotional baggage that can overload an office environment.
Dr Anju Bhatia – BDS (Lond), MSc, FDSRCS (Eng)
King’s College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust
Working and teaching in a Tertiary care unit with children, along with life’s difficulties, I found myself suffering from severe stress, anxiety and depression, some years ago.
I had received various treatments; however, I made a complete recovery from my symptoms after receiving Pranic Healing treatment with Les Flitcroft.
Pranic healing is a form of treatment that is intended to complement modern medicine and with experience I feel it achieves this and much more. The results I experienced have benefitted my life tremendously.
