Release stress and find harmony in your relationships

At this time of year, when the nights draw in and the weather turns colder many people experience physical ailments, aches and pains and fatigue and look for ways to help themselves. You may even find that strong emotions play out around these times as the seasons change to Autumn, there is less natural light, children are back at school and the demanding daily routines of life continue. Without realising it, people are often in a state of mental stress which can be the cause of some of these physical and emotional symptoms.
It is not surprising that stress may be present more clearly than usual, given the current pandemic situation and that many of us are in close lockdown environments, and this can influence our closest loving relationships. Love can be an oasis in uncertain times, but cultivating it takes attention, sincerity, transparency, forgiveness, and gratitude. Given that you might be dealing with multiple stressors as a couple, it is important to speak together about how you can prioritise and manage them. Often these ups and downs can test the strength of your relationships, but they require effort on both sides to make a real and lasting difference.
Relationships are an exchange of energy, in the form of thoughts and emotions. The quality of a relationship is influenced by our energetic output and the surrounding environment. Treating stress felt by both parties is vital for energy to be harmonised, purified, cleansed.
When partners are stressed, they can be impatient, withdrawn, defensive and irritable. Negative energy can radiate from the individual. It’s not hard to see why these behaviours would affect your relationship negatively.  Often people bottle up or keep their stress to themselves, which makes it difficult for their partners to understand what they are going through and to provide the right support. Without some kind of intervention, the gap caused by this kind of situation can get wider and wider.
If stress-energy is not released and removed it can create a negative cycle where partners “catch” each other’s stress. This happens because stress-energy is expelled by one and then caught by the other – when our partners are stressed, we become stressed. Think back to a disagreement that escalated quickly. You might have “caught” one another’s stress during the argument, which made you both feel even more frazzled. Couples get stuck in this negative cycle and may be too stressed to deal with the underlying issues.
Loving relationships can be healed, rejuvenated and harmonised through action on both parts to remove stress and induce calm. Finding a sense of peace, grounding and calming the mind can bring forth feelings of deep love, understanding, patience, wellbeing and forgiveness.
Couples could consider meditation, either together or separately to drive out negative stress-energy, reconnect with themselves and each other and bring in peace. Emotion-based meditations like Pranic Healing’s Twin Hearts Meditation work to open two energetic “hearts” and focus on bringing loving-kindness to the forefront of our mind and soul – it is hugely powerful in healing relationships and promoting harmony among partners.
There are of course many ways to reduce stress such as physical exercise, yoga, being in nature, getting good sleep, eating well, relaxation, breathing exercises and these are all worth doing in everyday life. Sometimes, however, negative stress-energy can get stuck and needs a little help to release. Pranic Healing can help remove this negative stress-energy and help restore a sense of inner peace and calm to both partners. Better still, couples can treat each other when qualified in Pranic Healing to reduce the number of stress energies between them and in the household.
The things in life that we do not see affect us the most. You cannot see your thoughts or emotions but they have the biggest influence on your actions, how you live your life and others around you.
